Here's a small sample of what AIM membership can offer you this year!
This year boasts the First Annual All-In with AIM Poker Fundraiser for BCIT Marketing Student Awards. Students, teachers and Industry professionals will get together to compete for the AIM Championship title in this 100-player Texas-Hold ‘em style tournament. All the money raised goes towards the AIM Student Achievement awards for each marketing option.
Industry Tours
Exclusive to AIM members, AIM Industry Tours give you a first-hand look at the inner workings of marketing firms like Cossette Communications. Past companies have also included Kirk Mailing (a firm breaking ground in the field of direct mail), Metropolitan Fine Printing, and a presentation from the head of marketing for McDonalds Canada. This year we offer members a tour of EA Sports.
AIM achievement awards
The class of 2010 will be the first recipients of the BCIT AIM Achievement Awards. To give back to the students who are the heart and soul of this school, AIM will be raising money to provide five $1000 awards to one student in each of the Marketing Management options. Recipient s will show high qualities in leadership, academics and service to their school and community. The first awards are to be presented in November 2009.
Leadership Opportunities
AIM strives to offer members unique opportunities to gain experience in marketing through event planning. AIM hosts a variety of Event Committes, members are encouraged to oin a committee to participate first-hand in execution and planning. In addition, elections run annually to elect first year members to the Board of Directors. If you are interested in using and developing your leadership, AIM gives you an opportunity to add to your resume while gving back.

Larger events such as Schmoozapalooza (a networking event with BCIT alumni) and the All-in with AIM Poker Tournament connect marketing professionals with students like you. AIM events also provide you with invaluable real world marketing experiences employers are looking for when they choose among recent graduates. Providing you with experience in such areas as making and implementing a marketing plan, event planning, cold calling, contacting media and issuing press releases, coordinating with on-location staff and coordinating and leading teams is what will make you stand out from other applicants.
